A bail hearing for a Hungarian tourist charged with murdering an elderly Auckland man in his home last month has been delayed.
Ferdinand Ambach, 29, appeared in the Auckland District Court on Tuesday, but his lawyer, James Faleauto, says the police have only just provided information about the case.
Mr Faleauto says while the delays are nothing unusual, they are frustrating for Mr Ambach and his anxious family back in Hungary.
Ronald Brown, 69, died in hospital three days after being discovered with serious head injuries.
Mr Ambach is charged with murder, assault and intentional damage. He is due to reappear in court on 11 March.
