Srinagar, May 29: An Indian tourist died in the health resort of Pahalgam in South Kashmir on Thursday.

Police said that a rafting boat carrying some tourists from the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh sank in the water at Lidder stream at the health resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir. Police and locals launched the rescue operation and rescued some of the tourists, who had suffered injuries. One of the woman tourists had suffered critical head injuries and was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

The deceased tourist was identified as Sharda, wife of Sri Nivasan of Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. Her body was flown to her native place for last rites.
