Australia is discovering what the region already knows - that the Mid North is home to some incredible icons.
The Clare Valley starred this weekend, with two television programs - one a national award-winner - featuring their local attractions.
People all over Australia were given a glimpse of the Clare Valley on Saturday night, with The Great Outdoors program screening a Romantic Weekend Escapes special.
Presenter Andrew Daddo featured on a segment about driving holidays, where he encouraged motorists to take in the picturesque scenery on a road trip from Adelaide to Hawker.
During the trip, he encouraged residents to stop at the idyllic township of Mintaro and enjoy the history and beauty of iconic Martindale Hall.
Another cherished local spot was featured on the Postcards program on Sunday, which showcased Burra Creek Gorge.
This South Australian program spoke of the natural beauty of the area.
Clare Valley Tourism Marketing manager Christine van der Jeugd said it was not the first time the region has had national exposure, with cooking identity Bill Granger visiting the Clare Valley recently to film stories for his television series Bill's Kitchen. Past coverage has showcased the Clare Valley’s diversity, including fossils at Redbanks, the famous saltbush lamb, the Stationmaster’s Residence and Baldina Creek, to name just a few spots.
"Stories such as these can only have a positive effect on the region and lift the tourism profile to a wider audience," she said.
"It is good to see the Clare Valley, which has always been known for its magnificent wines, also being recognised for the diversity and range of tourism product it has to offer."
